The main event of the 20th annual Royal Rumble will be the traditional 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. Thirty Superstars and Extremists from all three brands will enter the ring based on the numbers they draw prior to the contest; numbers one and two will start the match, with another competitor entering every 90 seconds. Eliminations occur when someone is thrown over the top rope to the arena floor; once all 30 men have entered, the last man standing in the ring will be declared the winner and earn a main event championship match at WrestleMania 23.

Who will round out the field of 30? Stay tuned to WWE programming and WWE.com as more names are announced.

SmackDown World Heavyweight Championship

Mr Kennedy Vs Batista

The World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Batista, will be contested at the Royal Rumble. Per General Manager Theodore Long's orders, the winner of Friday's SmackDown Beat the Clock Sprint will get an opportunity to challenge the Animal, or whoever the Champion is at the annual January pay-per-view spectacular.

World Heavyweight Champion Batista will be challenged by Beat the Clock Sprint winner Mr. Kennedy at the Royal Rumble. Kennedy has mowed down six former World Champions to date, and he hopes that past success will lead him to the World Heavyweight Championship in his first opportunity at the title. Batista has vowed to "not underestimate Mr. Kennedy," but can The Animal survive?

Last Man Standing Match for WWE Championship

Challenger: Umaga w/Armando Estrada Vs Champion: John Cena

At the Royal Rumble, Umaga has a chance to avenge his only WWE defeat to date when he challenges John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship. In a Last Man Standing Match, the competitor who beats his opponent to the point where he cannot answer a 10 count will be declared the winner.

Hostility between Cena and Umaga heated up the night after Survivor Series back in November. Armando Estrada announced that his then-undefeated protégé had only one thing left on his agenda: become WWE Champion. Moments after Estrada laid out the official challenge, Cena stormed to the ring and quickly accepted before staring down Umaga.

The two were barred from touching each other until Jan. 1, but when that day came, the Samoan Bulldozer laid out Cena to help Kevin Federline score a victory over The Champ. Cena would end up having the last laugh, however…or so he thought.

At New Year’s Revolution, Cena rolled up a stunned Umaga to win their match and retain the championship, handing the Samoan Bulldozer his first loss in the process. Estrada claimed it was a fluke, and Umaga tried to cement that claim when he laid out Cena with a Samoan Spike the next night on Raw.

On the Jan. 15 Raw, Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman announced the Royal Rumble rematch, also revealing that he would allow Estrada to select the match’s stipulation. Estrada chose Last Man Standing, saying the Samoan Bulldozer couldn’t be beaten on a fluke in this type of match. Cena said he wasn’t afraid, proving it by incapacitating Umaga before giving Estrada an FU through the same table they had just signed the contract on.

So what will give at the Royal Rumble? Will Umaga further Estrada’s fluke claims by defeating Cena and becoming WWE Champion, or will The Champ hang loss number two on the Bulldozer’s tally? Find out on Jan. 28

Singles Match for ECW World Championship

Challenger: Test Vs Champion: Bobby Lashley

Following Test's repeated attacks on ECW on Sci Fi, the hard-hitting ECW World Champion Lashley has found a new mission: seek and destroy. At the Royal Rumble, the object of this mission will stand on the opposite side of the ring in the Impact Player.

Lashley has taken down the dominant Big Show and stood tall against all odds to retain his ECW World Title. Hungry for ECW's top prize, Test earned his title opportunity by assaulting the champion with his own gold. Now, the fighting champion Lashley has demanded a one-on-one confrontation with his enemy. Though Test may have lived up to his moniker, the impact he made on Lashley may have ignited a rage in the ECW World Champion never seen before.

This will unquestionably be a true test of two powerful Extremists, but only one man can emerge as the ECW World Champion. Can Test land the big boot of his career at the Rumble and capture the gold? Or will Lashley dominate the self-proclaimed "Most Ruthless Competitor in ECW"?

Find out at the 20th annual Royal Rumble, as it comes to you live and only on pay-per-view on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 8/7 CT.

Tag Team Match

The Hardy Boyz Vs MNM - Mercury, Nitro and Melina

Joey Mercury has continuously blamed The Hardys for the vicious injury he received at Armageddon during the Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Matt Hardy has claimed his innocence, but after the brutal assault Johnny Nitro and Mercury laid on him recently on SmackDown, the match has been signed, as announced on WWE.com.
